Sugar free recipe – Pepita, honey & oat biscuits

So over dinner one night I told my family I was quitting sugar. Again. I do it frequently and then after a few months I slacken the reins and my sweet tooth takes over.

My family are used to hearing about my attempts to quit sugar, but this time was different. This time my six year old decided to join me. Then my three year old agreed (after lamenting that jam was off the menu). Then my husband agreed too.

Great! I knew it would be easier with everyone involved! I posted on Facebook to asking our family & friends know not to give the kids any sugar and I set about devising some sugar free lunchbox snacks.

Today we made these:

Pepita, honey & oat biscuits
150g melted butter
1/3 cup honey
3 handfuls of rolled oats
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1/4 cup Pepitas
1/4 cup sultanas

Mix all the ingredients together and roll into small balls and flatten slightly.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 12 minutes.

Makes approx 15.
